Design Team Reveal for Scrapbook Boutique

Hi everyone, it is my turn to share a layout I have created for this month using the wonderful moodboard at Scrapbook Boutique.

Here is the moodboard for the month of April:

I have taken photos of the steps I have done to create this layout, so grab a cuppa, sit back and scroll through the process :)

I have used the Kaisercraft Cottage Rose Collection - here I cut the 12x12 sheet down, frayed the edged and laid it on top of plain cardstock.

the top layer has been punched with a Martha Stewart edge punch randomly around the page.

I have used a Kaisercraft Script stencil and Whipped Spackle

Over the top of this I have used a kaisercraft Diamond Stencil and texure paste mixed with Finnbairs new metallic paints.

I used the Tim Holtz Distress Crayons - Picked Raspberry and Picket Fence mixed together with water and painted around the diamond areas.  I then stamped with the Kaisercraft clear stamps - Journal randomly around the page.

The chipboard title is from Blue Fern Studios, I embossed it with the Stampendous White Embossing poweder and then used the WOW Embossing glitter over the top.

From here I have used the Kaisercraft Cottage Rose Collection Collectables around my photo and adhered to the page.

This 2 Crafty Chipboard has been painted with gesso and then the Finnabair Metallic Paint

I have used the Prima Art stones around the Melissa Frances Resin

I have also used a Prima Vintage Trinket and Finnabair glitter.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed this post, giving you some inspiration to have a go at this months moodboard. Below I have linked the products available in the shop.

and dont forget - have a go at the moodboard this - there is still time :)

Til next time - Happy Crafting :)

OTR April Tutorial

Hi there - I would like to take you through a photo tutorial to create this layout that I did for Off The Rails Scrapbooking  (just a warning - you might want a cuppa as it is a little lengthy but hopefully informative !)

I have used Blue Fern Studio Paper - Love Story and a The Crafters Workshop Stencil with Whipped Spackle.  Once this is dry I have used Distress Paints (Broken China, Mustard Seed, Worn Lipstick) around the textured areas.

To create the effect I have dabbed the paint onto plastic (use an old bag your embellishments come in) and then spritzed the paint with water.  Turn upside and place the plastic onto the layout.  Dry with a heat gun - it generally pays to dry between colours, although the Tim Holtz paints dont blend together.

I have used an Indigo Blu Stamp - Raindrops and Lindy Stamp Gang Embossing Powder - Borgainvillea Red Teal randonly around the painted areas.

Randomly stamp around the areas with black ink and a script stamp

For the photo matt, I haved used Bo Bunny Country Garden paper and inked the edged with Distress Ink - Worn Lipstick.  I have cut different size pieces and stapled together.

I have made all of the embellishments other than the chipboard as follows:

The butterflies.

I have dabbed the three distress paints used earlier randomly onto the card and spritzed with water.

Move the card around until the blend and you are happy with the colours

Stamp the butterfly images onto the painted areas and fussy cut out

For the flowers - I have used a Deep Red stamp and Embossing Powders

Then I used a water brush and Distress Inks to colour them in and fussy cut out

The chipboard has been inked in black and embossed with sparkle embossing powder

The title embossed in blue embossing powder.

Now you are ready to put it all together layering the flowers in and around the photo mat.

I hope that you found some useful tips in this tutorial and thanks for stopping by.  Dont forget to have a go at this months wonderful water colours challenge here at Off the Rails Scrapbooking

Until next time Happy Crafting

April Mid Month Challenge - Off the Rails Scrapbooking

Hi there, I still cant believe that we are in April - Easter has come and gone and winter is approaching.  I have created a bright and cherry layout for Off The Rails Scrapbooking.  This month is a fantastic moodboard and "watercolours".  I have chosen to use a photo that was taken of Ros and myself whilst were we attending a Louise Nelson class - what a fun day that was.

I will be doing a tutorial on this in a couple of days so will not go into a heap of details til then.  I have used Blue Fern Studio Papers - Love Story, Stencils, Tim Holtz Inks and some embossing powders.  Here are some close ups:

The butterflies and flowers have been made and will be included in my tutorial.

Thanks for stopping by and til next time "Happy Crafting"

Colour Blast Design Team Layout - Dream Big

Hi Everyone, Today I am up on the Colour Blast Blog.  I have created a bright layout today of the twins turning 18.  I chose the butterflies to represent the start of adult freedom for them both.

I started using a Kaisercraft Stencil and Colour Blast paint - Sunshine, Lovely Lilac, Lipstick, Envy and Singin the Blues.

When finished I turned the stencil upside down and pressed all the pastes onto a piece of plain cardstock.  I am going to use this cardstock for my next reveal on 28th April - so stay tuned :)

I have used Bo Bunny - Country Garden Collection paper and Distress Ink - Worn Lipstick to create my photo matt.

I embossed the chipboard using Colour Embossing Powder in Lipstick and Sunshine.

I added some final touches with Kaisercraft Rhinestones and cotton.

Here are some close ups:

I hope that you have enjoyed this little step by step tutorial.  Below are links to the products that I have used from Colour Blast.

Til next time - Happy Crafting :)
