Here is my take on the challenge. I created an art journal page that reflects on age - as I am turning 50 in a few months! I have taken inspiration from the balloons and their colours as well as the word Birthday. I will put more close ups further down the post as well as a couple of process step photos:

As promised here are some photos taken during the design and some close ups.  I have listed the products used at the bottom of the blog post which are linked to the shop.

I have used a brick stencil and Finnabair rust paints to create the brick wall.

Distress Inks in Peacock Feathers, Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade.

6x6 circle stencil - i sprayed water through the stencil to create some blotches in the ink and Distress Medium Collage - Crazing.

The balloons were created using a gelli plate creation.  I used Dylusion Paints and texture tools with the gelli plate and then die cut balloons from the paper.

The dog was stamped from Tim Holtz Mini cats and dogs collection and painted with Distress Inks. Final touches include outlining the balloons in black Posca Pen, sayings from Tim Holtz Idea-ology Small Talk and splashes of gesso.

This shows the Tim Holtz crazing medium once dried

Thanks for stopping by and participating in our blog hop.  I hope that you get time to enter this months challenge with our awesome moodboard.

The Scrapbook Boutique DT Layout

Hi there, I cant believe we are now in Spring - Summer is just around the corner, finally!!!  In support of spring I have made a colour layout using the Collection from We R Memory Keepers - Urban Chic for The Scrapbook Boutique.

To create the background I have used a Crafters Workshop "Grunge" stencil and texture paste.

The rest of the layout was created by using the stickers, tags, ephemera die cuts and 6x6 paper that go with in the collection.

Here are some close ups:

I have linked the products below to the Scrapbook Boutique Store.

Hello Scrapbook Layout - for The Scrapbook Boutique

Good morning -Today I am up on the Scrapbook Boutique Blog sharing a layout I have created using the Cocoa Vanilla Collection  - Love Always.  This collection is just devine.  I have created a layout of my son and his girlfriend.

I have linked the products used on this layout at the bottom of the blog.

I started with clear gesso over the layout so when I applied the water colours they didnt soak into the paper.  I then used Matte Medium to lay strips of paper from the Love Always collection for a background.  On top of this I have used The Crafters Workship - Diamond stencil and texture paste. This how is looks so far

Excuse the photo - it was taken with my phone at night so has the light reflection on it.  You will see that at this stage I used some texture paste and stencilled the words Friends and Friendship.  This was hidden under my photo mat which I was ok with as the pink wasnt quite the right colour!

At this point I used Lindy Stamp Gang Magicals - T Bird Turquoise and Cotton Candy Pink for the background colours.

Here are some close ups:

I used Liquid Pearls - Petal Pink and Mint Green randomly around the layout.

I have used pieces from the Love Always collections to create the photo mat and embellishments.

Thanks for stopping by and until next time Happy Crafting.
Dont forget to check out the items I have used in the Store either here or on the product links below.
