LYNN -    (you are here)

Here are some process photos and close ups:

I began with a 12x12 chipboard panel and placed torn up pieces of book paper and dictionary paper.  I then applied White Crackle paste around the layout in different thicknesses to provide texture.  Once the crackle was completely dry, I coloured with gelatoes - Bubblegum and sprayed with water.  I then got a wet wipe and rubbed around the layout so the colour went into the cracks.  I continued with this until I got the desired result.

On the bottom third of the layout I applied the Finnabair paint - Wild Fushsia and Vintage Rose, as well as splatters of both and gesso.

Once all was dried I compiled the layout using the Wild at Heart Collectables, flairs, frames and Wood Veneers.

I covered the hearts with the Finnabair paint - Wild Fuchsia and the title with the Vintage Rose.

Keep applying the gelatoes until you get the desired colour.

Kaisercraft Marble Stamp was applied with black ink around the photo layout area.

Thanks for stopping by and dont forget to keep blog hopping :)

Mini Album for the Scrapbook Boutique

Hi everyone, I am up on the Scrapbook Boutique blog  to share a mini album that I have created using alot of goodies from the Scrapbook Boutique store.

For the front cover I have used a resin heart as my focal point and placed many resins and metal pieces around.  The main colour has been created using Mica Powder - gold opal magic, Prima Acrylic Paint - Opal magic rose gold, and Metallique Wax - Vintage Gold, Rose Gold and Rich copper.  Glitter as a final touch to bring it all together

Each page has a flip out in which you can place photos as well as a pull out photo sleeve.

I have used the Prima Wild and Free Collection to create the pages.

Die cuts- Cherry Lynn Designs Italian Flourish and a script stamp on most of the pages.

Die cuts - Die-namics Mini Doily Cirlces, together with a brick stencil and Nuvo Embellishment Mousse - Mother of Pearl

Altered Bamboo Serving Panel for Creative Artiste Mixed Media Blog.

Good morning,  I am SUPER excited to announce that I am on the Creative Artiste Mixed Media Design Team and my first project is up today.

This months challenge is sponsored by Lindy's Stamp Gang.  You can check out all the challenge info on the Creative Artiste Mixed Media blog here

I have decorated a Bamboo Serving Panel using the awesome Lindy Stamp Gang sprays

I have used silicone moulds with texture paste and gel medium to create some lace, butterflies and hearts which I adhered directly to the panel.

I applied white crackle paste to the blank areas of the panel and allowed this to dry naturally - i find it gives better cracks.

I have given the cracks a good spray of Lindy Stamp Gang - Midnight Rendevous Raven and then wiped it with a baby wipe which leaves the black in the cracks only.  I have then used the following Lindy Stamp Gang sprays on the panel:

Drop Dead Gorgeous Green
Hi Maintenance Magenta
Prima Donna Purple
Frozen Jack Frost

Once I was happy with the colour arrangement - after adding some dry brushing of gesso to tone some areas down I went about layering all the flowers and resins.

I have coloured the resins with Finnabair Art Alchemy Wax - Lucky Emerald, Rose Gold and Vintage Gold as well as Finnabair Sparks Paint - Iris Potion, Unicorns Hair and Butterfly Spells.

I have added Tulle in areas under the flowers.  Micro Beads in Copper and Berry together with Glass beads in Licorice and Butter have been added around the panel.

The last touch was some words from Tim Holtz Ideo-ology Big Chat, edged with Dusty Concord.

Thanks for stopping by and dont forget to hop over to the Creative Artiste Mixed Media blog here
and check out the other ladies projects and have a go at the challenge.  You could win some awesome Lindy Stamp Gang products :)

Til next time - Happy Crafting :)

Canvas for Memory Maze

Hi everyone, well it is the last day of April and the colder weather is going to set in here in Tasmania - which I love - more crafting time and less outdoor gardening!!!

Today I am up on the Memory Maze blog and have created a canvas for you.  This depicts a heart closed in, embraced  and restrained by elements.  I have used my favourite colour - purple and green as an earth tone.

I started by placing selected items onto the canvas panel.  I have used assorted buttons, metal pieces, flowers, art stones, mini art stones, Prima Resin heart, Prima Diamond Stones, cardboard and Memory Maze Chipboard pieces.  I have shown the chipboard pieces used below with a link to the store.

I adhered them with 3D Matte gel.  Once dried I gave everything a coat of black gesso.  I didnt placed the Prima Diamond Stones onto the piece until last.

Once the two coats of black gesso were dry, I coloured some white Prima wire with Dylusions Spray Ink - black marble and wrapped it around the canvas panel.

I began with my colours.  I have used the following colours:

Prima Mica Powder - Lilac Opal Magic, Green and Gold.
Prima Acrylic Paint Sparks - Dragons Eye, Iris Potion and Raven Black.
Dylusions Spray Ink - Black Marble
White Gesso
Art Alchemy Metallique Wax - Vintage Gold

I just kept layering the colours, drying in between and layering some more until I was happy with the result.

I have then sprayed the canvas panel in areas where I wanted to sprinkle glitter with a spray fixitive and added Finnabair glitter.

Here are some close ups:
