layout and a canvas for Scrap FX Design Team

Hi everyone, I am here to share a layout I created using a photograph taken of some Melbourne city street art as well as a canvas using an array of chipboard pieces.

For this layout I have used the 7 Dots - Hazy Days collection.  The background using stencils from 13arts and The Crafters workshop together with Colour Blast Paste, Whipped Spackle and Art Alchemy Paint - Metallique Deep Waters.
I heat embossed the title with Stampendous Embossing Powder - Pearlustre tanzanite and for the steampunk flourish border, I cut this in half and painted it with Golden High Flow - Shading Grey.
Here are some close ups:

Chipboard Used:
and for my second project I have created a canvas representing the jumbled thoughts in a persons head and finally being released and free like a bird.

I began by setting out all the items onto a canvas and then gluing them down - I used Prima 3D Matte Gel for this.

I used Prima 3D Gloss Gel through a prima circle stencil around the blank areas.  I then painted everything with a couple of coats of black gesso.

Once this was dry I was then able to start building up the layers of colour using Prima Art Alchemy Paint, Finnabair Mica Powder, Art Alchemy Metallique Wax and glitter.

Letters, numbers - stamp designed by Fiona Paltridge for AALL and Create.

Blue for the colour of the European Union, Union Jack... - Blue scribble stick & Blue ink stamping.

Textures – created texture with the use of heavy gesso

Something both vintage and modern - vintage book page, vintage pictures on tissue paper with a modern girl.

Layout for Scrap FX

Hi there everyone, I am up on the Scrap FX blog today sharing a layout of one of our beautiful waterfalls here in Tasmania. This awesome photo was taken by my sons friend, Mitchell Buckley Photography.  I am so thankful to him for letting me use such wonderful photos.

I will link the Scrap FX Chipboard used at the bottom of the blog.
I began with 7 Dots Hazy Days Collection and some white crackle paste, clear crackle paste, and 13 arts inks

I embossed the  chipboard embellishments with Lindy Stamp Gang Embossing Powder - Tannerbaun Green Gold.

The title I sprayed with white gesso and then applied a thin coat of Lindy Stamp Gang Embossing Powder - Cleopatra's Copper.   I wanted the effect of the white showing through resembling the water coming through the colours.

ATC's for Art and Soul Mixed Media

Hi everyone, today I am on the Art and Soul Mixed Media blog to share a couple of ATC's that I have created using this months quote and the Yupo paper available in the store.

This months quote:

I began by applying watercolour to the Yupo paper with alot of water and letting the watercolours do their thing.

I then applied some Jane Davenport washi tape to the red and yellow ATC.  I then swiped with a baby wipe.  The thing about Yupo paper is the water colour stays wet for a very long time, allowing for blending and movement.

I have used an alphabet stamp to create the title and a carabelle eye stamp for the main eye.

For this one, I have used the Jane Davenport faces stamp

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a chance to have a go at creating a project using this months quote :)

Altered Box for Creative Artiste Mixed Media Design Team

Hi, today I am up on the Creative Artiste Mixed Media blog to share an altered box I have created using the wonderful Maja Design papers from the Vintage Autumn Basics Collection.

Maja Designs are the sponsors for us this month and you can find their website here

This is the box before I started - I purchased a new purse from Vera May - and I love it :)

I began by covering the box in the Maja Design paper on all the edges and adding some lace along the edges where the two designs meet.

I had previously made some embellishments using silcone moulds and No More Gaps - they worked well as they were very flexible.  I have used them for the centre piece and the side doillies.

The centre piece (which is two separate pieces) have been painted with Lumiere Paints in Metallic Rust, Rose Gold and Pearl White.

I have used a Bo Bunny Romance stamp embossing powders on the top of the box.  The birdcages I have used Ranger Embossing Powder in Copper and the rest of the stamping I have used Stampendous Embossing Powder - Pearl White.

Here are some close ups:

The butterflies were cut from the Maja Design paper - 6th May.  I also highlighted them by using dimensional magic.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope that I have inspired you to have a go this month.  You will find all the details on the blog here

Til next time - Happy Crafting
