Layout and ATC's for Scrapfx Design team

Hi everyone, Lynn here up on the Scrap FX Design team to share a layout and atc's that I have created using some of the latest release products from Scrapfx.

This photo was taken from my hotel on a recent trip to Melbourne.  The lights were wonderful on the Crown Casino when the fire cauldrons out the front went off.
I painted the chipboard pieces with black gesso as I was using an embossing powder that is reactive on black

With the title I embossed this with the Colour Blast Bling embossing powder.

Here are the Scrapfx products used and a link to the store:

For my second project I created some ATC's.

I began by applying gel medium through a stencil onto cardstock that had been coated with black gesso.  Once dry i applied another coat of black gesso on the top.

I have then used Mica Powders to create the background of the cards.

I used white gesso on the chipboard buttons and then painted them with Art Alchemy Acrylic Sparks Paints.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are inspired to create something.

Art journal page for Scrap Matrix Design team

Hi everyone, I am on the ScrapMatrix Blog sharing with you my art journal page that I have created for this months challenge - Watercolour and Words Share:

I have used the amazing Twinkling H20's by Colourarte.

You can find them in the store with this link

Here is my art journal page:

I started the page using a Visible Image stamp - Face It - once the ink was dry I began to add the colours.  The H20's are fantastic - you add water to the jars and the hard colour liquefies.
I did a class once with the awesome Fiona Paltridge and see said over and over again - water is your friend when using water colours.  She is so true.  I added water to the art journal page, added water to the H20's jars and everytime I added more colour my brush went into the clean water container first.

When adding a new colour I let the colours blend together themselves with the water that is on the page- so place the colours a little apart from each other.

Here are some close ups:

As an extra I also created some water colour cards:

On watercolour paper I used the H20's and created some patterns using brushes and stencils.

For the Thank you card I cut out the hearts using a punch and sewed them onto cardstock

For the celebrate card I have die cut balloons from the water colour paper as well as adding it behind the die cut white cardstock.

For the Hello card I did the same, added the watercolour paper behind the die cut cardstock as well as die cutting the "hello".  I also used the water colour paint to stamp the butterfly.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you found something that inspired you to create and have fun with watercolours. - and dont forget you have til 15th November to create something with watercolour and at least one item from ScrapMatrix and upload it to our facebook Scrapmatrix Shares page to be in for the running to win a ScrapMatrix voucher

I have used the following items from the Scrap Matrix Store:

Design Team layout for Scrap FX

Hi everyone, today I would like to share a layout I have done using some wonderful Scrapfx chipboard and 13 arts paper

For the background I have used a Dylusion stencil - Bowl of Cherries and white texture paste.  Once dry I have applied 13 arts Ayeeda Powder, Rainbow Colour Duo - Lilac

I have fussy cut the butterfly and doilee from the collection pack.  The butterfly is highlighted with dimensional magic.

I have painted the chipboard with white gesso - I wanted to keep them plain as they stood out against the coloured background.

I have linked the products used below:

Until next time - Happy Crafting :)

Second layout for Scrap Matrix Design Team

Hi everyone,  today I am back to share my second layout for the month with Scrap Matrix.

For this layout I chose the inspiration from Fiona Paltridge's 13 arts paper collection - Strength in numbers

I began by cutting some of the 6x6 Strength in Numbers collection paper pad into strips and squares and adhered to a 12x12 page using soft matte gel.

I then applied white gesso to blend the pieces to the background. Once dry I mixed modelling paste with 13 arts Ayeeda Splash Ink Green and applied though a 13 arts stencil - Tattered Circles

From here I have used stamped around the background with Dina Wakeley Stamp - Scribbled Text Element.

I have used the black German Scrap Embossed Trim and splashes of 13 arts inks - voilet, white and green.

I have fussy cut the feathers as well as some of the clear stickers for depth.

Dont forget to head over to our facebook group to enter - our challenge runs from 15th of September to 15th October so there is still plenty of time - you could win a voucher to spend in the store :)

I have linked the products used below and til next time - Happy Crafting

Art Journal Page - for Art and Soul Design Team

Hi everyone,
Today I am on the Art and Soul Mixed Media blog with an art journal page. I am not sure about you but here in Tasmania I am over winter and September is suppose to be spring - not snow, hail, rain and freezing temperatures that we are getting.  So I have created a spring layout in the hope the weather changes soon!

I have used the Dyan Revealey art journal and I LOVE it - the paper is beautiful.

I prep the page with clear gesso

I have then applied Deco Art paints using a brayer

On water colour paper I have stamped images from the Paper Artsy JOFY53 stamp

I have coloured these with the same Deco Art paints that I have used on the background with the addition of the green

I have used some scrap pattern paper on the bottom of the journal.  I then begin outlining the flowers with Stablio ALL black watercolour pencil.

I then add some detail with a white sharpie pen

and some splatters

the title is a combination of Making Memories Rub on letters and Tim Holtz small talk letters.  I have also added some flowers - Dylusions "where does your garden grow" stamp.

Thanks for stopping by and I have linked the products below to the Art and Soul store.
