Layout for Scrap Matrix Design Team

Good morning everyone.  Today I would like to share with you a layout that I have made for this month's challenge at Scrap Matrix.

I loved this challenge because there are so many possibilities - so many ways to interpret the moodboard.

This month I have chosen to scrap a picture of an old leather letter holder that used to belong to my granddad.  Inside it are letters that I received from my friends in New Zealand when I moved to Australia.  They date back to 1989.

As the letters were older I decided to do the layout in a more traditional way - without all the mixed media.

I have used the 7 Dots Air Mail Collection Kit

I have ripped up from of the paper to make some layers in which I can slip the tags into - on the back of the tags I have done my journaling as I dont like to have my journaling on the internet - to me it is more personal.

I have distressed the edges using a paper distresser and Tim Holtz Distress ink

I have then added some stamping in the background - I have done some assorted stamping around the layers and added some more tags around the photo.

I have then added some tags, stickers, words and shapes that come with the collection kit

I hope this has inspired you to get crafty!!!

Layout and tag for Scrap FX

Good morning -  today I would to share with you two creations I have made for Scrap FX Design team -  a tag and an 12 x 12 layout.  Firstly the tag:

I began by randomly gluing down some tissue paper and then using the Triangles Pentagons Stencil and white crackle paste.

Once this was try I have added some colour using a Stabilo All black pencil and water.

I have then coloured the chipboard using Finnabair paints and mixing some of the paint with glass bead gel.

The saying is from word stickers by Flutterbys.

The second project I have today is a layout showing a photo of my two boys - the saying is so very much applicable!

I have used 7 Dots Collection - Northern Lights for the paper.  I have applied Colour Blast Paste through the The Cool Circle Stencil.

The Arrow chipboard pieces have been painted in wuite paint

The title has been painted with black Dina Wakely paint

Scrapbook Layout for Scrap Matrix Design Team

Good morning everyone, today I would like to share my second layout for this month's "Framed" challenge for Scrap Matrix.

I have create a layout where I have framed the photo with flowers and the outside of the page with hand drawn lines.

I was super lucky enough to visit Vicki at Scrap Matrix in Victor Harbour and do Tracy Scott's classes.  It was a fabulous time and definately a time to remember as the layout title says.

Meeting people IRL, reuniting with friends and making new friends made the weekend (well nearly a week!) a fantastic time - no doubt over the next few months my layouts will showcase the photos of the good times we had!

I have created the flowers and background using a selection of Tracy Scott's stamps which I will list at the bottom of the post.  The colour has been applied with the wonderful Paper Artsy Paints - these paints come in a wonderful range and are a beautiful texture to work with.

In the background I have pushed the flowers to the back using white paint over the top, and with the flowers on top I have highlighted them using a white paint pen - Black and white are amazing colours as they can do the reverse depending on how you use them which is shown in this layout.

Art Journal Page for Scrap FX

Hi everyone, today I am sharing an art journal page that I have created for Scrap FX using the stencil masks.

I have created a number of pages with these masks - I find them fun and creative.
I have began by adding colour to my page - the "ugly" stage.  I have used Paper Artsy paints and Dina Wakley Paints.

Once that was dry, I have then added some Flutterby Paint lines and splashes.
I have then laid the masks where I wanted them and using a triangle makeup sponge I have dabbed around the mask with heavy black gesso.

Once this was dry, I have used the Art stencil and white paint for the saying.  I have gone around the edge of the "art" word with a black posca pen.
I have gone in with a white paint pen and doodled around the images and added some splashes of white and black ink.
I have then embossed the title with Lindy Stamp Gang Embossing powder.

Scrap Matrix DT Layout - Framed

Hi everyone, today I am sharing my "framed" layout created for Scrap Matrx.  This months challenge is open to many interpretations - and lots of options.   For my "frames",  I have framed the outside of the layout with circle stamps,  I have framed the insider layer with stamps and the tags behind the photo has been created used a framed stencil set.  There is also a little metal frame below the flowers.

I have used Tracey Scotts Paper Artsy stamps around the edges in red ink and in the centre with black ink.   The paper is 7 Dots Illumination Paper. I have also stamped the same images on a seperate piece of paper.

The images I stamped on a seperate piece of paper,  I have coloured in and cut out.  These will be placed over the images stamped on the layouts so all the stems will be in place but fussy cutting around them not necessary!

With the squares behind the photos, I have cut paper to match the size of the mini stencils and then used white ink and a makeup sponge.  Once the ink was dry I have gone around the edges with a fudeball pen,

I have randomly added some bling on the ends of the stamps

I have added some flowers, micro beads and a square metal frame.

I hope that this has inspired you to take part in this months challenge.  You have until the end of the month to create a project - it can be a layout, card, ATC's, off the page, art journal page...  The only requirement is you upload a photo to the relevant album in the Scrap Matrix Shares facebook page and tell us one or more products that you have used that is available in the Scrap Matrix Store - simple !!!!  No blog post required!!!!
