art journal page for Scrap Matrix

Good morning everyone, today I would like to share with you an art journal page that I created for this months challenge - Art by Marlene.

I had just been to the classes held my Marlene and had an awesome time.  I love the way she creates characters out of combining stamps and I thought I would give this a go:

I have used a Art by Marlene Tags (I have cut this one down a little and punched holes in the side so that I can add it to my Art by Marlene Journal

I began by adding white paint and a fluro green paint to the tag and scraping around with an old credit card.  I have then placed TCW Stencil designed by Marlene over the top whilst the paint was still wet and wiped with a baby wipe.  This gave me some texture without the layers.

I have stamped the two images on a separate cardstock.  This is actually a page out of the journal.  As I was away when I created this, it was the easiest way for me.  In future I would use the watercolour paper that Marlene has released - it is so thick and smooth one side and rough the other.  Here is the link - watercolour paper pad

I have coloured the images with Art by Marlene watercolours and fussy cut out.

I have stamped some triangles around the tag from the Stardust Brightens stamp set and added some cut outs on the edge.  These came from the Die Cut Sheets.

I have stamped the saying from the same stamp set - Stardust Brightens and used water colour paint.

I have adhered everything down using matte medium

Here are some close ups:

I have coloured the stars with white Posca Pens

I have used the white Posca pen to add some more details on the cut outs.

to highlight the fish I have used stickles on the hair follicles (not sure what they are!!!)

This is  a wonderful month - there are some many products that Marlene has produces - you can see what is available here

So why not enter this months challenge - you could win a guest spot or a shopping voucher with Scrap Matrix.  All you have to do is upload your project to the Scrap Matrix Facebook Shares album and let us know what product/s you have used that is available from Scrap Matrix.

Art Journal Page for Scrap FX Design Team

Hi everyone,  today I am sharing with you an art journal page created for the Scrap FX Design Team:

I have used the image transfer technique with matte medium for the photo - I love how this comes out when art journalling.

The background colours are paper artsy paints and I have used the "ghosting" effect.  This is where you put down the colour, and go over when dry with another colour - in this case I have used white.  Then you place your stencil on top and use a wet wipe to remove the white.
I have also stamped numbers around the page and highlighted them with a black marker.

Here are some close ups:

products used:

Happy Birthday Hearts
Numbers silhouette SMALL
Birthday transparency
Numbers Stamp
Triangle Pentagons stencil
Triangles stamp
I hope that you are inspired to create an art journal page or two - and maybe give the image transfer a go!

Art Journal Page - Art by Marlene Challenge for Scrap Matrix DT

Hi everyone, today I would like to share with you an art journal page that I have made for this months challenge - Art by Marlene

and my art journal page:

I was mesmerised by the amount of product that Marlene has and it was difficult to choose what to use!!!!!

I began creating my background using Dina Wakley paints.  These are applied randomly on the art journal page of the new Art by Marlene art journals.

Using the stamps from the Little Ladies stamp collection I have created a border.  I have used the mini archival ink pads in similar colours to the backgrounds

For the centre piece I have stamped  directly onto the page the heart 23 stamp  as well as stamping this onto a seperate piece of water colour from the watercolour paper pad.  I have coloured the image with Tombow markers and adhered to the page with Matte Medium

To add the finishing touches I have used a white posca pen to highlight around the edges of the stamps and added a title.  Of course nothing is complete without splatters!

Junk Journal pages for Scrap FX

Hi everyone, today I am back to share some more of my pages that I have created in the Junk Journal for Scrap FX Design Team.

This one is out of my comfort Zone - I dont warm to the blues and greens but am pleased with how this simple page came out.  I have used the Demure Face Stencil and black gesso.

I have used Paper Artsy paints in blue and yellow and then once dry pink over the top.  Using the Polygonic stencil I have then wiped away some of the paint leaving some fun marks on the page.  The flowers are  from the Build A Stamp Set which I have painted with golden paints.  The leaves are heart set stamps.  The quote is from the Art Words tranparency.

This page was what I call a "cheat page".  The junk journal already came with this premade gelli paper so I only had to add a black Mandala and a quote from the Art Words Transparency.  I find pages like this one, and the next one are great to use a mojo starters.

This is a small transparent piece of paper in the Junk Journal which I have simply added the coffee Love Stencil with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

I have coloured the dictionary paper with acrylic paint, added some washi tape, Jane Davenport eyes and a Dina Wakley Collage Words saying.

This page I have paints the background with Paper Artsy paints and then using the Silhouette Ladies Stencil/Mask and some black distress ink, blocked out some of the background.  I have added some visual texture by stamping with the Mandala Stamp.

This page was inspired by a circle page I saw Lisa Oxley do. I have used the Mandala Stamp inside the circles which I created with the circle stencil.  Some more stamping with a brighter colour using the triangle stamp and adding the black and white butterflies.
I hope that you have enjoyed these few pages.  This is now the half way mark in my junk journal and I am excited to keep going - will share some more pages at a later date.

Til then - happy creating.

Junk Journal pages for Scrap FX Design Team

Hi there - I while back I did a the cover of an art journal page in a class Michelle Logan held in Melbourne - well this month I am going to fill that art journal and share with you now and in a couple of weeks the pages.
Here is the front of the junk journal:

Today here are four pages that I have done

Below I will go through each page and the products used:

I was inspired by everyone doing the circle challenge - and who doesnt love a circle or two!!  I have used Paper Artsy paints in the background as well as some of the awesome new index tabs.  I have painted the circles in and then stamped around the page with the triangle stamp.  The saying has been cut from the art phrases transparency

For this page - the other side of the tabs from the previous page are showing. and I have used yellow, orange and pink paints to match.  I have also cut out some circles from the index tabs to place around the page.

Again the transparency has been used for the quote.  The paint brush stencil is an oldie but certainly a favourite.

I created a very busy background with Dina Wakely paints and some stamps - Triangle Collage StampsFilm Strip StampStitching Stamps.  I have then placed the Silhouette Ladies Stencil/Mask and using Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink around the edges to create the image.  The Live Spontaneously has been cut from the Art Words Transparency

I loved creating this page.   I began randomly placing the index tabs around the layout and then added colours using Golden paints.  I have then used the circle stencil to draw some circles and using black paint to block out the background.  Again the words are from the Art Words Transparency.

I hope that you have enjoyed these few pages and I shall be back soon to share some more.
