Lets Get Sketchy DT Reveal

Hi everyone, it is another week - and it will be Christmas before we know it.  This week it is time for another reveal at Lets Get Sketchy.  This weeks sketch is by Brenshevia and I have done a layout of my gorgeous red heeler Ruby:

She was such a cute puppy!!  She is now 5 years old :)

Here is a copy of this weeks sketch:

I have used Prima paper from the Timeless Memories collection.  On the background I have used a Memory Box stencil - Rings and Puddles with Art Anthology Dimensional paint in Leaf colour as well as a kaisercraft stamp and black ink and the same stamp with Embossing enamel from Pipe Dreamink "Opals Mango".  The white rings are a die cut - Memory Box "Loops Rings' and the edge stamp is from EK Success.

Here is a couple of close ups:

Well thats all from me today, but dont forget to have a look at the other Design Team's layouts and have a go at this weeks sketch.  You can find the link here

OCTOBER DUAL CHALLENGE

This month Scrap Around the World and Lindy Stamp Gang have awesome challenges and I have created one layout for them both.  This photo, taken by my son, is of graffiti in Melbourne.

I have used paper from the Graphic 45 Typography Collection.  The first layer is white crackle paste and a Donna Downey stencil.  I then used dimensional magic and micro beads around the area of the stencil.  Once dried I have used Lindy Stamp Gang Sprays - Prima Donna Purple, Hi Maintenance Magenta, Sassy Sapphire and Bling-y Blonde for colour and splashes.

I then applied stamps from Kaisercraft and Tim Holtz.  The prima fringe was coloured with Lindy Stamp Gang Hi Maintenance Purple, and final touches include a couple of flowers and Prima Mechanicals and a few white splashes.

Here are some close ups:

this is the moodboard from Scrap Around the World, designed by Heather McMahon:

I took inspiration from the colours in these awesome photos.

LETS GET SKETCHY DT REVEAL WEEK ONE OCTOBER

Where on earth has this year gone.  I had so much planned and so little achieved!  But it is a new week and a new reveal at Lets Get Sketchy and here is my take:

This is a photo of an old cabin in Tasmania that was unfortunately burnt down a few years ago.

Here is this weeks sketch

I have used Bella Paper "Something Blue"  for my background.  Loved this paper so I didnt want to change it too much.   I have used a Tim Holtz "on the edge" die cut which I embossed with Stampendous Shabby Green embossing enamel.  The bird house is an Impression Obsession die cut and the trees a Memory Box Leafy Branch die cut.  The corrugated board (from a diet coke box) has been inked with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain distress ink.

Here are some close ups:

Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you find the time to have a go this week.  Here is a link to the Lets Get Sketchy blog here for more inspiration from the other design team members.

Challenge layout at Deer and Fawn Designs

Hi all,

Somehow I have managed to find time to do a challenge this month at Deer and Fawn Designs.  It is a monochromatic colour challenge - bright and happy orange - which is a colour I have been warming to lately. Here is a link to their blog

I have used white cardstock with orange cardstock behind.  To create the background I have stamped flowers with black ink and clearing embossing powder.  I have then randomly applied two different shades of orange water colours around the embossed images.  My photo mat has been created using die cuts from Memory Box, Spellbinders, Samantha Walker, and Die-namics as well as a few strips of washi tape.

Here are some close ups:

Thanks for stopping by and until next time "Happy Crafting" :)

Lets Get Sketchy DT Reveal Week 2 for Team A

Hi there - I am back again with the second DT Reveal for the month of September.  This month at Lets Get Sketchy we have an awesome sketch by Laetitia.  I love the mixed media element these sketches allow you to incorporate into the layouts.   Here is my take on the sketch:

and here is a copy of the sketch

I have used Kaisercraft Paper - Base Coat.  To this I have applied a Tim Holtz and Memory Box Stencil with Whipped Spackle. After drying I have applied Lindy Stamp Gang Magicals - "red hot poker orange".  Once dried I have used Kaisercraft Stains Stamp with black ink.  Behind the photo I have used black cardstock with a Cheery Lyn Design stencil - "frame".  I have used chipboard from Whichcraft do you do and Dusty Attic.  I have applied black ink and Pebeo paints onto the chipboard.

Here are some close ups;

you have to love the Lindy Stamp Gang Magicals and how the gold shows through

Lets Get Sketchy DT Reveal

Where has the year gone - we are already in September and in Tasmania, Australia it feels like we have been going through a 12 month winter.  I am hoping that the summer days are not far away...This week it is Team A's reveal at Lets Get Sketchy and we have an awesome sketch by Brenshevia.  Here is my take:

I have used paper by 7 Dots "walk the plank", a The Crafters Workshop Stencil "the story" and texture paste to create the background.  Once dried I applied Lindy Stamp Gang Starburst mist "delphinium Turquoise" and "frozen jack frost".   A few more splatters with watered down gesso and the background is done.  I have used Pebeo Paint "white" on the chipboard title and layered the photo mat with assorted paper scraps from my stash.  The flowers are Petaloo and a touch of bling brings the layout together.

Here is this weeks sketch:
