April Mid Month Challenge - Off the Rails Scrapbooking

Hi there, I still cant believe that we are in April - Easter has come and gone and winter is approaching.  I have created a bright and cherry layout for Off The Rails Scrapbooking.  This month is a fantastic moodboard and "watercolours".  I have chosen to use a photo that was taken of Ros and myself whilst were we attending a Louise Nelson class - what a fun day that was.

I will be doing a tutorial on this in a couple of days so will not go into a heap of details til then.  I have used Blue Fern Studio Papers - Love Story, Stencils, Tim Holtz Inks and some embossing powders.  Here are some close ups:

The butterflies and flowers have been made and will be included in my tutorial.

Thanks for stopping by and til next time "Happy Crafting"

Colour Blast Design Team Layout - Dream Big

Hi Everyone, Today I am up on the Colour Blast Blog.  I have created a bright layout today of the twins turning 18.  I chose the butterflies to represent the start of adult freedom for them both.

I started using a Kaisercraft Stencil and Colour Blast paint - Sunshine, Lovely Lilac, Lipstick, Envy and Singin the Blues.

When finished I turned the stencil upside down and pressed all the pastes onto a piece of plain cardstock.  I am going to use this cardstock for my next reveal on 28th April - so stay tuned :)

I have used Bo Bunny - Country Garden Collection paper and Distress Ink - Worn Lipstick to create my photo matt.

I embossed the chipboard using Colour Embossing Powder in Lipstick and Sunshine.

I added some final touches with Kaisercraft Rhinestones and cotton.

Here are some close ups:

I hope that you have enjoyed this little step by step tutorial.  Below are links to the products that I have used from Colour Blast.

Til next time - Happy Crafting :)

LYNN -    (you are here)

And here is the process of making this layout and some close ups (sorry for the lengthy post but I hope you enjoy it)

For the base I have used the cardboard backing of a 12x12 hearthfelt creations paper back as the layout is going to be wet and heavy. I started by using Tim Holtz Ideology Tissue Wrap and 3D Matte Gel - I didnt bother putting any product where my photo was going to be.  I have used a brick stencil and White crackle texture paste on top of the tissue paper.

I then sprayed the entire layout with gesso spray - but you can always use watered down gesso and a brush.

While the layout was drying, I prepared the chipboard frame with Stampendous Shabby Pink Embossing Enamel and Zing Pink Embossing Powder.

I have used the new Tim Holtz Distress Crayons around the brickwork, smuding as I went.  They are black soot, walnut stain, vintage photo and peeled paint.

Once I laid down the photo and frame, placed the assortment of flowers around, I added a few sayings from Tim Holtz Idea-ology small talk.

Some additions of glass beads, clear micro beads and glitter and the layout is complete.

Some close ups:

Well if you have made it this far I am pleased that you took the time to view the process and maybe learnt something.

I am super excited to be selected to be on the Scrapbook Boutique team and I have created a scrapbook layout for my first reveal:

I have used the Heartfelt Creations - Everyday Heros Collection.  I started by applying gesso to the area my arrangement was going and then using Whipped Spackle and The Crafters Workshop Stencil - Art is:

I cut up tags from the page in the collection to form my photo matt

I then applied Luminarte Silks - Teal Zircon and Nutmeg randomly around the area

Using Zing Charcoal embossing powder and a Darkroom Door stamp around the edges

For the 2 Crafty chipboard title I used Ranger Embossing Powder in Turquoise

the flowers are from Petaloo and Kaisercraft.  I have also used hemp cord for the tags and Ranger Glass and Micro Beads.
