SWIRLYDOO SKETCH CHALLENGE

After receiving my July Kit, this is my take on the Swirlydoo Sketch Challenge.  I have also put it in for the Swirlydoo Butterfly Challenge.  I used the Finnabair stencil with Viva Ferro in Amber Gold in two areas on the edges.  The papers are from the Prima Sunset/Sunrise collection.  I cut the larger doily on the cricut and the smaller one using a Cheery Lynn Doily die cut.  The branches are the same, one from a die cut and the other two on the cricut machine.  The butterflies are from the spellbinders die cut and covered with dimensional magic.

Thanks for looking and dont forget to go to Swirlydoos.com and have a look at the other entries.

SCRAP THE BOYS

July Challenge for Scrap the Boys is a black and white head shot and here is my take:

I created this page using aluminium foil and embossing folders which i inked in black and rubbed the excess off.  The gears are cut from the tim holtz die cut, also in foil and then inked and stamped.  The motorbike is chipboard covered with foil tape (from the hardware store) that comes with the pattern and inked in black.  The sprocket around Max's face is chipboard that I distressed and glossed with dimensional magic.

About A Boy July 15 Challenge

This half of the months challenge at About a Boy is to scrap a page "catch the waves" and here is my take on a water themed layout:

I applied two stencils to the background with modelling paste resembling the rocks and water drips.  Misting colours and distress inking another diamond stencil completed the background.  Gorgeous prima flowers added the finishing touch to my layout.

Head over to the website, About a Boy Challenge and have a look at the other samples and have a go - great prizes to be won.

Thanks for visiting

40th Birthday Present

My very good girlfriend celebrated her 40th birthday last weekend and I made her the configuration box to put up in her home that she is currently renovating

This was a huge pleasure to sort and put together.  Each individual box was covered with Tim Holtz tissue paper and I either cut, found, brought or made the pieces to put in it.

In addition to this, I also made her a birthday card - from the Kaisercraft range:
This is the front:

and next page;

This is inside the front page

and this is the back cover - I found this paper years ago and reminded me of satin sheets - which I love - and never knew what I was going to use it for - looks so smooth and touchable!

About A Boy Scrapbook Challenge - 1 July

The first part of the July's challenge with About A Boy was to create a layout using Red White and Blue.  Here is the layout that I completed.  Dont forget to go to their blog and check out the other layouts:

http://itsabouttheboys.blogspot.com.au/2013/07/july-1-challenge-red-white-and-blue.html

For this page, I used distress inks and a hexagon stencil to create the background.  I outlined the hexagons with Distress Pens and then used water to give a "splotchy" effect.  The blue ink edging was created with gelatos that I smudged with my finger and water.
