SCRAP THE BOYS CHALLENGE

This months challenge at scrap the boys is a layout that is messy/grunge.

Here is my take on the layout:

This photo of my son, Sam when he was mucking around pretending to be a model!!!

I used a piece of corrugated cardboard which I edged with Inka Gold - Old Gold around the edges.  The rest I covered with clear gesso and misted with Luminarte Radiant Rain Shimmering mist "namorado" and "bashful blue" as well as Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist "latte", "cinder", and "dragonfly".

The gears are a Tim Holtz die cut, inked with Distress Inks, Vintage Photo, Black Soot and Rusty Hinge and covered with Dimensional Magic. Other chipboard is from my stash.  The mesh under the photo is actually the bag that our furry babies tennis balls comes in!  The centre of the gears are from Tim Holtz as well. The negative run is a Tim Holtz Die Cut.

The tap and lightbulb is from junkyard findings and the tape Tim Holtz Ruler Ribbon

The Chipboard is from Imaginarium and covered with Inka Gold - Old Gold.  Black Dots are made with a Viva Pearl Pen

Lets Get Sketchy - DT Layout

This weeks Sketch Challenge is by Brenshevia and I had fun with it.  I rotated it upside down and came up with this:

Here is the sketch (not rotated as my computer wouldnt play properly!)

I used Kaisercraft Paper on the background and used a Kaisercraft butterfly stencil and Tim Holtz distress ink - tea dye.

Stamps were from Tim Holtz, Prima (Finnabair) and also Tim Holtz rub-ons.  The butterflies were fussy cut from some paper I had in my stash. The negatives strips are from Kaisercraft Art of Life Collection Paper

The little clock embellishment is from Little B, and I also used items from Kaisercraft Art of Life Collectables.

Here are some close ups:

LETS GET SKETCHY MAGAZINE SUBMISSION # 5

And the last layout I have is of my gorgeous cat, Sally.  We had some random chickens turn up and so I put an old mower catcher, with hay inside, in the garden to see if they would lay eggs.  When I went to investigate, I found Sally sleeping inside - hence no eggs!

For the background I used TCW brick stencil and Ant Anthology Stone Effects Paste as well as a Tim Holtz stencil and Distress Ink.  The paper and tags are from the Stationers Desk collection.  The flowers I created using Heartfelt Creations Die cut.  Stamping is from Hero Arts and Bo Bunny.

Thanks for stopping by and dont forget to check out all the entries in the magazine :)

LETS GET SKETCHY MAGAZINE LAYOUT # 4

This photo is of my Grandmother.  I have to thank my mum for all my "old" photos.  She is heavily into geneaology which is fantastic for me!

I used black card stock on top of white card stock.  I used prima flowers and Bo Bunny trinkets.  I also made Darcies Skrink Plastic trinkets and a clock chipboard that I applied Distress Ink and Dimensional Magic to.

LETS GET SKETCHY MAGAZINE LAYOUT # 3

This layout is a picture of my beautiful cat, Buster.  He loves to get into plastic bags!

I used a Tim Holtz stencil and and distress inks to create the background as well as distressing the edges.  Stamps are from Kaisercraft and flowers are I am roses. Simple but dramatic I thought :)

Thanks for stopping by :)

LETS GET SKETCHY MAGAZINE SUBMISSION # 2

This layout was created for the section "Black is back".

I used the Little Hands jig saw pieces and traced the outlines.  I coloured  the outlines with gelatos and then went over the outlines again with a white gel pen.  The four pieces on the corners and two blue pieces in the right hand corner of the picture are the actual chipboard pieces.   The chipboard gears are from Blue fern studio and coloured with Lindy Stamp Gang Magicals.  I cut assorted tags from Bo Bunny papers and used some Tim Holtz brads. The background stencil is from Memory Box and I used Shimmer Paints – Texturez as a texture paste.

Thanks for stopping by and dont foget to check out the magazine. :)

LETS GET SKETCHY MAGAZINE LAYOUT # 1

Here is the first of five layouts that I did for the Lets Get Sketchy Magazine.  This photo of my son was taken when we had a machinery in our back yard and he decided ear muffs were the go!

I used Graphic 45 Typography collection paper.  With the background Finnabair stencil I used Viva croco crackling paint in gold.  Chicken wire, washi tape, Bo Bunny stamp and assorted embellishments completed the layout.
