Scrap Around the World December Challenge

Just in the knick of time I have completed a layout for the scraparoundtheworld december challenge.

Here is my take on the mood board:

this is the mood board that we had to get incentive from:

I chose the frames, the teal, pink and purple to create a layout using an old photo of my niece.

Here are some close ups:

The Paper is 7 Dots Studio, Stormy Sea.  The frames are Prima Resins which have been coloured with Inka Gold, and Patina Verdigris.

The wording is chipboard from Ruby Rock-it.  Stencilling using a Kaisercraft circle stencil and texture paste mixed with Patina  Paint from Ranger "Verdigris".

Chipboard flowers and butterflies also from Prima which have been painted with gelatos and then coated with either Tim Holtz Rock Candy Glitter or Sparkle Embossing powder.

Thank for stopping by :)

This months, Boy Challenge over at boymeetsgirlchallenges is to do a layout following the sketch.  I used photos of my sons recent visit to the hairdresser.  Hair tattoos these are apparently called - and luckily they grow out!   This is my layout:

I used Ferro Graphit and circle stencil for the background. The circles were randomly edged with gelatos and water.  The arrows are again a stencil but the gesso and coloured with the left over gelatos.  The chipboard embellishments and title were coloured with Viva Inka Gold - Cobalt Blue.  Random sprays and circles were made with Heidi Swapp Colour Shine White.

BOY MEETS GIRL DT LAYOUT = NOVEMBER

This months Boy Meets Girl (Girl) DT challenge was to create a winter colour page - and of course having a photo of a girl.

This is Ali, she often features in my pages.  Having 2 teenage boys that do not have girlfriends and no nieces I have to scrap friends and their children!

I used texture paste and a Kaisercraft circle stencil to create the dots and another Kaisercraft stencil to create the arrows. Before the texture paste dried I covered with embossing powder "sparkle" and dried.  I randomly edged some circles with water coloured pencils.  It hasn't really come up all that well in the photos but there is alot of glitter.

I also used dimensional magic and Martha Stewart coarse glitter at the ends of the arrows.  The colours on the edges of the page are gelatos drawn though plasterers tape and the tape removed.

I painted the metal leaves with Ranger Patina Paint - verdigris as well as the letteers and the centre bud of the flower.  The centre bud was made from modelling paste and a flower bud mould.    The centre is also gelatos, spritzed with water and blended.

Canvas for my Sister in Law

This is a canvas that I created for my Sister in Law for her birthday.  I had a great deal of fun doing it - Canvases certainly give you the freedom to create.

and I used so many products from my stash and my recent my Swirlydoo's kits.  Here are some close ups:

Again thanks for stopping by and having a look

SCRAP THE BOYS NOVEMBER CHALLENGE

This month over at Scrap the Boys the challenge is "man's best friend".

I decided to scrap by Dad's new best friend "Jim".  He suddenly lost his Whippet, Billy and finally along came Jim and they bonded immediately.  Jim goes everywhere with him and even tho he is only 6 months old he is extremely devoted and loyal.  This photo was taken at their property, being the typically curious pup

The background was created using texture paste and stencils.  I then used gelato's to colour the background to blend in with the moss and tree trunk.  Some flowers (yes on a boy page!) and butterflies which i coloured using Viva Inka Gold.  This product is awesome on chipboard but unfortunately the photos dont show the shine they have.

A close up:

Thanks again for stopping by and having a gander.  I have two more to put on tomorrow - if I get home from work on time!

Purple Pumpkin November Sketch Challenge

This months Purple Pumpkin sketch challenge is;

T

and here is my take on the sketch:

I have used 90% of products that came from the recent Swirlydoo's Kit.  I used a Stencil and Viva Modelling Creme, Mother of Pearl for the dotted background.  The flowers are all handmade from offcuts of the papers used.  The chipboard frame has been coated with Viva Inka Gold, Old Gold.

Thanks for stopping by and dont forget to head over to Purple Pumpkin and check out all the November entries.

BMG NOV 1 DT REVEAL

This month over at BMG it is all about fall colours.  In Australia we have autumn, so my layout is titled Autumn Time.

The backing page is Cosmo Cricket.  I used distress inks - rusty hinge, evergreen bough, fired brick and wild honey randomly on the page using a Tim Holtz stencil - Burlap.  I fussy cut the leaves from some old paper I had in my stash which was unfortunately not labelled.  I then covered the leaves with Dimensional Magic which gave then shine and the curls.  I put glass beads on the top of the bird bath chipboard piece to resemble water.  To highlight the title I outlined the letters with a white pen.  Some close ups:

SWIRLYDOO OCTOBER SKETCH CHALLENGE

This month sketch challenge over at swirlydoos.com is:

and here is my take;

I used all products from the October kit (which by the way is awesome!).  I gessoed the background to dilute the stripes.  Using a brick stencil and texture paste I placed bricks around the edges which i coloured with distress inks - fired brick, black soot, rusty hinge, and gathered twigs.  Before the ink dried I covered with dimensional magic to highlight but also gave the blended colour effect.

A few close ups:

I painted (or smudged with my fingers!) with Inka Gold - Old Gold.  Fantastic product to work with.  I then added some black gelato - which is a little hard to see in the photos.

This awesome little resin potted tree from Prima has been painted with Ranger Patina paints.

Thanks for looking and dont forget to head over to Swirlydoos and check out all the layouts.

BOY MEETS GIRL DT OCT 15 CHALLENGE

On the 15th of every month AAG has a challenge on the Boy Meets Girl Challenge blog and this months challenge is all about TEXTURE.

Here is my DT submission.  This is a night out where we had to dress from the 80's.  Couldn't find the "flashdance" leg warmers anywhere so had to knit up a pair which i was still knitting whilst we were driving the 3 hours to the venue!!!!

On the bottom layer I used modelling paste and a Prima stencil.  I then colored this using glimmer mists (unfortunately the photos don't show the shimmer!).  I randomly stamped around the edges creating another texture.  The next layer, I again used modelling paste and a Prima stencil.  This time I tinted the modelling paste with silks acrylic glaze in pink grapefruit before using it.  The lace at the bottom of the page was coloured with metallic grape gelatoes.  Flowers are a combination of Prima and I am Roses.  I added another layer using chipboard, first coated in gesso and then inked with the silks acrylic glaze.  The other emblishments are all from Bo Bunny Noteworthy die cut pack.

Here are a couple of close ups:
