swirlydoos - Ultimate Design Challenge - Week 2

This weeks challenge was to design a page with lots of layers.  I chose to use a photo of my Great Aunt when she was competing in the "May Queen" competition. It is actually a photo of the hand painted portrait.

i used the following papers - K&C company - teal floral and Vintage Typography Collage,  Daisy D's - travel rose, Co-odinations - white wash collection (which i sanded to get the pink embossing to show thru, Imaginise - signatures of time which i wet, scrunched and inks with Spun Sugar, peeled paint and tea dye distress inks.   The flowers are kaisercraft which again i inked.  The photo frame corners are a My Favourite things die cut.

Swirlydoos Ultimate Design Challenge - Week 1

Week 1 of Swirlydoos challenge - create a multi dimensional embellishment and add it to a scrapbook page, card or other altered item.  I created this page using a kaisercraft chipboard flourish - you can check them all out here (if i get the link right!)  http://www.swirlydoos.com/www.swirlydoos.com

I used distress ink on the flourish and then glossy accents highlights with some diamentes and kaisercraft mini paper blooms.  I handmade the other blooms using  My Favorite Things Die Cut.  I coloured the bigger flowers with smooch ink and liquid pearls.  A closer look .....
