Colour Blast - Art Journal

Good morning - well it is the last day of March - hard to believe that Easter is over and the year is flying by.  Today I have created an art journal page for Colour Blast:

I started by covering the entire page with an assortment of Dylusion Paints and blending them together

I then applied a The Crafters Workshop stencil - Cosmic Swirl and Lipstick Colour Paste over the top

Once dried I used the Colour Paste - Bling and Snow White with a Finnabair Bubbles stencil randomly on the page.

I stamped and embosssed  two crazy cats and a title using Colour Embossing Powder - Dusty Charcoal.

I then coloured the cats with Shimmer Spray - Apple of my eye and Sunshine.  I applied two coats to get a shaded effect.

More Than Words March Challenge

I have completed a layout for the More Than Words Challenge for the month of March - Bliss & Gesso.  Here is my layout:

I have used the Kaisercraft Collection - True Romance.  I started by applying gesso to the  area I wanted to place the photo and embellishments.

Here is the challenge for this month over at More than Words

Once the gesso was dry I applied Shimmerz Inklings - Me & blue, Sheer Bliss and Pink-A-Boo randomly around the area.  I then stamped with a Kaisercraft Script Stamp and Black Ink.

The photo mat was created using the labels from the Kaisercraft Collection - True Romance.  Flowers are from Prima and Green Tara.

The chipboard from Which Craft Do You Do was embossed with Stampendous embossing enamel in Shabby Pink and Shabby Blue.

Here are some close ups:

Micro beads, glass beads and glitter have been applied randomly through the layout.

I fussy cut the butterflies that are on the manufacturers label at the bottom of the page.

Final touches being splatters of gesso and the inklings colours.

Thanks for stopping by and until next time - Happy Crafting :)

Canvas for Colour Blast Design Team.

Good morning, Lynn here with a canvas that I have created using Colour Blast Shimmer Sprays

I started off with a blank canvas and applied 3D Gloss Gell Medium and a stencil girl stencil to the entire canvas.  I attached many items that I could find in my stash and around the house - buttons, lace, chipboard, resin, safety pins, flowers etc.  I made the largest resin bird bath my centre piece.

I then covered everything with black gesso - twice

I then sprayed with the Colour Blast Colour Shimmer Sprays starting off with the lightest colour and the darkening the areas at the bottom and centre trying not to get anything over the bird bath.  I used Lovely Lilac, Royalty and Snow White.   I used Bling on the bird bath.  I did this a number of times until I was happy with the depth of all the colours.  I used Finnabair Mica Powder - Pale Silver to get the highlighted stripes.  Final touches with Micro Beads - Berry and Black, Glass Beads - Zinc and some glitter.

Here are some close ups:

Thanks for stopping by and until next time Happy Crafting :)

COLOUR BLAST - TWO CARDS

My goodness March already - time is travelling so fast.  -today I have made two cards for Colour Blast Design Team Reveal -

I began with water coloured paper and two different stencils, both from memory box.

I used my favourite Colour Blast paste - Snow White.

then with Colour Blast Shimmer Sprays I added colour - Rose Petal for the one on the left, Sunshine, Lipstick and Just Blue to the one on the right

I loved the background so much that I decided to put minimal embellishments onto them:

A cute die cut doilee and dress form topped with a stamp from Tim Holtz Crazy Things that I coloured and cut out.

For the other card, I cut off the edge of the paper that had no stencil but had the shimmer spray and hand wrote a Happy Birthday sentiment.  3 flowers from iamroses and a few beads and glitter.

Once dry I attached them to white card stock that I have folded as a card.

I hope that you have enjoyed these cards and the process of making them.  Click here and you will be able to pop over to the Colour Blast blog and check out all the other awesome projects/layouts the Design Team have been creating.

I will be back later in the month with an art journal page and a canvas.
