Art Journal Page - for Art and Soul Design Team

Hi everyone,
Today I am on the Art and Soul Mixed Media blog with an art journal page. I am not sure about you but here in Tasmania I am over winter and September is suppose to be spring - not snow, hail, rain and freezing temperatures that we are getting.  So I have created a spring layout in the hope the weather changes soon!

I have used the Dyan Revealey art journal and I LOVE it - the paper is beautiful.

I prep the page with clear gesso

I have then applied Deco Art paints using a brayer

On water colour paper I have stamped images from the Paper Artsy JOFY53 stamp

I have coloured these with the same Deco Art paints that I have used on the background with the addition of the green

I have used some scrap pattern paper on the bottom of the journal.  I then begin outlining the flowers with Stablio ALL black watercolour pencil.

I then add some detail with a white sharpie pen

and some splatters

the title is a combination of Making Memories Rub on letters and Tim Holtz small talk letters.  I have also added some flowers - Dylusions "where does your garden grow" stamp.

Thanks for stopping by and I have linked the products below to the Art and Soul store.

Til next time - Happy Crafting

a layout and off the page project for Scrap FX

Hi everyone,  today I am up on the Scrap FX blog to share a layout and an off the page project.
First up is my layout.  This is a picture of my son's beautiful girlfriend and their "Son" Knox.

I have used Blue Fern Studio Papers - Happy Accident.   For the background I have used a variety of stamps and used black ink or embossing powder.

The chicken wire chipboard has been painted with white gesso and then painted with  Finnabair Mica powder - gold opal.

The title and swirly flourish have been painted with Prima Art Alchemy sparks paint - Butterfly Spells.
The flowers are from the 49 & Market collection.
The frame around the photo is a diecut from Die Namics- Single Stitches Rectangle.
Behind the flowers is a circle mold I created using gloss gel and Finnabair Opal Magic Powder Gold
Final touches include art stones, glitter and glass beads.

Scrap Matrix Design Team Moodboard Challenge

Hi everyone, I am super excited to be part of the wonderful Scrap Matrix design team.  I hope that you find time to play along with us - you will be in with a chance to win as shopping voucher from Scrap Matrix.

This months fabulous moodboard is all about our crafting space:

Here is my take on the moodboard

I do have a craft room, but prefer to scrap in the hub of the house.  I am lucky to have a HUGE lounge room and have taken over part of it.

The photo shows my three favourite storage items - map drawers which also form my standing desk area, the red tool box and the 5 sets of steel drawers.  I also love my two ikea raskogs.

This is a couple of photos of my actual craft room which is really a storage room for some of my stash!!!

I thought I would also share my diecut storage - my husband attached magnetic sheeting to plywood - I have two of these and they are fantastic - I hate having to take things out of their packages as I never put them back in and end up in a mess - these sit at each end of my steel drawers in the lounge.

Well enough of my space, back to the layout:

After distressing the edges and applying clear gesso to the paper, I have used silks acrylic paint through a 13 arts stencil

Around the photo area I have used Prima White Crackle paste and another 13 arts stencil.

I have then applied 13 arts powders and mists.

Here are some close ups:

I have used Blue Fern Studio paper - Happy Accident.  I created my own tags which are edged with Distress Ink - Scattered Straw

I coloured a gauze pad with 13 arts Water Colour Powder - Rainbow Colour Duo Yellow Amber and Ayeeda Mist - Chalk Burnt Sienna.
The German Scrap Embossed Trim was sanded to distress and coloured with Finnabair Metalique Wax - Vintage Gold

13 arts colour, together with black stamping

White paper lace and metal trinkets

glass pebbles were placed randomly on the layout.
Glass beads, micro beads and white gesso splatters completed the layout.

Here is a list of the products used with links to the Scrap Matrix shop

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find time to have a go at joining us - to enter the challenge all you need to do is upload your project to the Scrap Matrix Shares facebook page.
