ATC's for Visible Image Design Team

Hi everyone, today I want to share some Artist Trading Cards that I have made for the Visible Image Design Team.

I have made four cards, measuring 2.5 in x 3.5 in.

I began with a piece of watercolour hot pressed paper that is 300 gsm.

I have stuck to three colours of distress inks and have blended them together on the paper

I have then used the same colours through 3 Visible Image stencils - Strobes, Time Tunnel and Fibres

Again using the same colours I have stamped randomly with a mixture of stamps that I have listed and linked to the Visible Image store at the bottom of the blog.

I have then cut the paper into the 2.5 x 3.5 inches and stamped the focal point with black ink and used a sparkle embossing powder over the top.
The big words were stamped with blank ink.

art journal page and 12x12 layout for Scrap FX

Hi everyone, Lynn here to share with you an art journal page I have created and a scrapbooking layout for Scrap FX Design Team.  I have been inspired by this months awesome new "numbers" products.  I love random numbers and letters and begin with my art journal page:

I began with colouring my art journal first with lighters colours  of Dylusions Paints - lemon zest and pure sunshine

Once the first layer was dry, I have then applied darker colours - Squeezed Orange and Tangerine Dream

This next step - or 4 I got a bit excited and forgot to take step by step photos!!!!  I used the number stencil and a wet wipe to lift up the top layer of paint to reveal the light layer underneath.  I did this until I was happy with the effect.   I have then used black acrylic ink and the script stamp and using gel medium glued down the torn up dictionary paper.

Here are some close ups:
I have used Cherry Pie Dylusions Paint as a contrast and to blend everything together.
The alphabet letters have been embossed with black embossing powder.

I have used the heart stamp and white Dylusions ink randomly on the page and outlined very loosly with a paint pen.
The black marks are where I have used the chipboard as a stamp and black ink prior to embossing the chipboard

The words are from the Teen Advice Transparency and outlined with a white paint pen.

For my next project I have created a 12x12 scrapbooking layout

Layout for Scrap Matrix DT Challenge

Good morning everyone, today I am up on the Scrap Matrix blog sharing my first creation for the March Challenge - Layers and Textures.    I am often a texture, flowers, layers scrapbooker and that creates a thick page that doesnt fit into my albums.  So this time I have created a page that has as much detail but doesnt have the thickness (if that makes sense!)

I began with black gesso and a crafters workshop stencil on 7 Dots Paper from the Paint Chips Collection

Once the gesso was dry I have put the stencil back on and using Finnabairs Mica powder & a little water I went over the marks again

Whilst that was drying I stamped my images onto paper that I had previous created using the gelli plate, dylusion paints, stamps, stencils  and lots of handmade marks and shapes.  I colour photocopied the original so I get to use it over and over again

I then fussy cut the images out  and have used Dylusion paint pens to draw around the edges, colour in some of the images so as to define the stamp more

to add some more texture to my layout I have used the AALL and Create Stamp #39 by Bipasha with Embossing Powders around the layout.  I have coloured some pieces of a bandage with Dylusion Sprays to place behind my photo and added some word stickers from the 7 Dots Collections - Paint Chips and Fortune Teller.

Here are some close ups:

Outlining the images in paint pen - be careful not to be too neat! This adds dimension.

Stamped images in the background with embossing powder adds another layer and texture

Dyed bandage tucked under here and there also gives a different texture.
