Canvas for Memory Maze

Hi everyone, well it is the last day of April and the colder weather is going to set in here in Tasmania - which I love - more crafting time and less outdoor gardening!!!

Today I am up on the Memory Maze blog and have created a canvas for you.  This depicts a heart closed in, embraced  and restrained by elements.  I have used my favourite colour - purple and green as an earth tone.

I started by placing selected items onto the canvas panel.  I have used assorted buttons, metal pieces, flowers, art stones, mini art stones, Prima Resin heart, Prima Diamond Stones, cardboard and Memory Maze Chipboard pieces.  I have shown the chipboard pieces used below with a link to the store.

I adhered them with 3D Matte gel.  Once dried I gave everything a coat of black gesso.  I didnt placed the Prima Diamond Stones onto the piece until last.

Once the two coats of black gesso were dry, I coloured some white Prima wire with Dylusions Spray Ink - black marble and wrapped it around the canvas panel.

I began with my colours.  I have used the following colours:

Prima Mica Powder - Lilac Opal Magic, Green and Gold.
Prima Acrylic Paint Sparks - Dragons Eye, Iris Potion and Raven Black.
Dylusions Spray Ink - Black Marble
White Gesso
Art Alchemy Metallique Wax - Vintage Gold

I just kept layering the colours, drying in between and layering some more until I was happy with the result.

I have then sprayed the canvas panel in areas where I wanted to sprinkle glitter with a spray fixitive and added Finnabair glitter.

Here are some close ups:

12x12 Layout for Scrapbook Boutique

Hi there, I am up on the Scrapbook Boutique blog today and would like to share a very old photo of myself and my handsome horse.

I have used the awesome 49 and Market paper - Heirloom Botanicals. I love this paper as it is very thick and can without weight and mixed media.  I have also used the new Prima Acrylic Paint - Sparks which are super awesome.

I have created a photo mat using paper from the 6x6 49 and Market Heirloom Botanical collection.
The flowers are also from 49 and Market.
I have stamped randomly around the background using a script Kaisercraft Stamp

I have used a flower and heart Modge Podge mould and painted these with Iris Portion - Sparks paint.

I have also used the paint on the tiny chipboard flowers and then embossed them with the Colour Blast Embossing powder in Snow White.  This is the same embossing powder I have used on the clock chipboard.

Final touches with micro beads - blush, silver and berry together with splashed of gesso to tie the layout together.

I have linked the products used below.  Until next time Happy Crafting :)

LYNN -    (you are here)

Here are some process photos and close ups:

I cut up pieces of the 49 and Market paper and laid around where my photo is going.  I used Matt Medium to adhere them to the cardstock.

I them covered the joins with gesso to blend it all together.  I then used a stencil and texture paste over the top.

Hi have used Lind Stamp Gang sprays - Hi Maintenance Magenta, Bling-y Blonde and Sassy Sapphire

I also used the Kaisercraft Marble stamp with black stazon ink randomly on the layout.
I fussy cut flowers, butterflies, birds and a bird cage.

All the fussy cut pieces I inked with Distress Oxide - Worn Lipstick.

I used 49 and Market flowers on the layout
