A heritage scrapbook layout and a card/tag for Scrap FX

Good morning today I am here to share with you two completely opposite projects using the featured products this month for Scrap FX.   I have a heritage scrapbook page and a brightly coloured tag.

Firstly the scrapbook page of my Grandma.

I have inserted a gold piece of card behind the numbers and edged the pocked with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

I have embossed the little flowers with a stampendous shabby pink embossing enamel

The foam stamp flowers have been stamped around the layout and also onto another piece of matching paper and fussy cut out to give the layout dimension. I have added black floral cut outs and used a black and gold button as the centre.

The frame has been embossed with Stampendous Aged Black embossing enamel.

The title has been embossed with Stampendous Shabby White embossing enamel.

I will list the products used with a link to the shop at the bottom of the blog post.
My second project is a colour tag:

I created the background using distress oxides - i have applied these onto the glass mat, spritzed with water and then patted the tags and pocket onto the colours.

I have then used a darker colour and stencil over the top.

I have then coloured some paper and stamped an assorted of flowers and then  fussy cut them out

I have stamped a happy birthday sentiment on the little tag so that my tag can now be a birthday card/tag

I have added some black glitter paper behind the numbers on the pocket so they stand out.
I have used a white paint pen and Liquid pearls as highlights on the flowers.

The dragon fly has been embossed with embossing powder.

For the final touch, I have edged the tag with black ink
I hope that you have enjoyed both my projects.  Below is a list of Scrap fx products used and a link to the store.

Scrapbook layout for Scrap Matrix DT

Hi everyone, today I would like to share my second layout for this months challenge - Metals & Petals over at Scrap Matrix.

I have loved this months challenge.  Sadly we had to put our furbaby down a month ago, and I have created this layout in memory of her.

I have used Happy Accident paper, 13 arts stencil and crackle paste to create some texture in the background.  I have used paper artsy paints - Tango, Greeen Patina, Banana and Pumpkin soup.  I have stamped around the area where the layout will go with Tim Holtz Stampers Annoymous Stamp - Perspective.

The flowers have been created using wipe off sheets - this is where I have been making background and wipe off the brayer onto paper.  I have then stamped the Paper Artsy Stamp - ETS22  onto this paper and cut out.

I have randomly used some deco foil around the layout to add some "bling"

Metal flowers have been cut in half and inserted behind the photo

I have die cut a heart and stamped the word fly from the Paper Artsy stamp set.  The "something to remember" is a sticker from the 13 arts collection - Secret Letters

A white paint pen adds finishing touches on the flowers and a "favorites" sticker from the Mambi sticker set

Art Journal page for Scrap FX

Good morning everyone, today I would like to share with you an art journal page I created using Scrap FX stamps and stencils.

I began by painting my entire art journal page with random colours  - I have even used some metallic colours!

I have then taken the big butterfly stamp and using a fine pencil drawn around the stencil

I have then used a thin black pen to outline the butterfly that I had traced and them began colouring it in using a thicker black paint pen

Once this was complete I have stamped the bottom half of the page with flowers and then began blocking out the background with a solid paint colour.

I wasnt particularly fond of the colour I chose, so once it was dry I covered it over again with white paint.  This is the "ugly
stage!  I still needs some background stamping, another layer of white paint and some highlights.

I also typed out a saying " Butterflies are like self propelled flowers" to complete my page

Art Journal Cover for Scrap Matrix DT

Today I would like to share with you my project for this months Challenge at Scrap Matrix - Metals and Petals.

No automatic alt text available.

When I saw what the challenge was for this month, I was super excited.  I just love to create these projects - whether it be on canvas, board or like today as an art journal cover.

I have created this on  my small Dylusions Album

I have glued everything down except the bulb - that goes down last. I find that the Finnabair Matte Gel is great for most items - anything that requires a depth of gel it is better to use Finnabair Heavy Body Gel.  I leave this to dry naturally.  You can use a heat gun but as I often have two projects on the go at once I tend to work on my other project whilst it dries

Once dry everything gets covered with black gesso and then the colouring can begin - this is the exciting part!

I have used Prima Art Alchemy Paints.  I start with the colour that is going to be in the background and then build the colours up layer by layer.

Once I am happy with the colours, I then add the finer details - highlights with Prima Art Alchemy wax,  glass beads, micro beads, sequins and the light blub which I have painted the back of with the Art Alchemy paints.

Here are some close ups:
