Just in the knick of time, I finished another challenge layout and this time it is with Umwow Studio.
I used Bo Bunny Back to Basics paper and cutouts. For the background texture I covered the paper with Clear Gesso and then used Glimmer Mist Dreamiscle and Radiant Rain Shimmering Mist by Luminarte in Bashful Blue. I added mesh tape and stamped randomly on the paper. The stenciling was done using a Prima Stencil and Viva Modelling creme - Mother of Pearl. The chipboard was painted with black gesso. I highlighted the edges and flowers with Luminiere Brass paint.

BLACK WITH TWO - MIXED MEDIA CHALLENGE
I was doing a layout for the Black with 2 Challenge (which will be my next post) when I noticed the Mixed Media Challenge. Check it out at their website here Here is my layout:
I began this layout with black cardstock on which I placed a smaller piece of grey cardstock and using a kaisercraft square stencil and clear embossing powder to get the first layer of the background. Next I used black watercolour and bubblewrap on the entire page. Using a Kaisercraft Circle stencil and Grey pen I outlined random circles on the page. I also used a Tim Holtz Faded dots stencil and texture paste and a Tim Holtz Film Strip die cut.
I painted the chipboard circles in black watercolour paint and then used Tim Holtz Crackle Paint clear. Once dry and cracked I rubbed it with grey ink and used Liquid Pearls on some of the pieces. The outside edges are stamped with Distress Ink - picket fence. I also randomly placed some clear droplets from Kaisercraft.

WHITE WITH 1 - GOLD
I have to admit I love winter as I am able to be inside and scrap all weekend without feeling guilty!
Here is my layout that I created for the May Challenge over at White with 1
This is a photo of my furbaby Ruby and I thought she was the perfect colouring for this challenge.
I used two shades of gold - Lindy Stamp Gang Magicals - Grab a Guy Gold and Gelatoes Gold Champagne. For the background I put the magicals powder in a mister and sprayed and then spread with a plastic bag.

LETS GET SKETCHY MAY DT LAYOUT
Second reveal of the month - and this time a sketch by Bev Code.
This photo is of my son and his friend on my sons 18th birthday
I used modelling paste and a stencil to create the squares. When dry I placed the stencil over it again and coloured with Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst - Whale Watch Blue. Under the photo I cut strips of scrap paper, drywall tape and applied gesso. I then coloured using Glimmer Mist - Demin Blue and Mustard Seed. I then randomly stamped around where my photo was going. The chipboard was painted in gesso and then coloured with Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Fired Brick and stamped with Stazon Ink. On top of this I applied Dimensional Magic.

SCRAP AROUND THE WORLD - MAY CHALLENGE
I just loved the mood board at Scrap Around the World this month and did the following layout:
My photo frame was made using Little B squares die cut.
Stamping is from Artful Collection Stamp collection and I used a Martha Stewart border punch.
This photo is of my niece and her family. I was inspired by the colours, the balloons, and the bow.
The paper is from Maja Design - Vintage Spring Basics. I used a brick stencil and studio 49 crackle texture paste. Once dried I coloured the bricks with Making Memories paint "sea foam" and Lumiere gold paint. I also used glimmer mist "tattered rose" and "gumdrop". The chipboard title was covered with gelato and dimensional magic and the lower half with stamp it glitter. The flowers are an assortment from my stash and Petaloo - all dabbed with a coat of Lumiere gold paint.

SCRAP THE BOYS CHALLENGE
This months challenge at scrap the boys is a layout that is messy/grunge.
Here is my take on the layout:
This photo of my son, Sam when he was mucking around pretending to be a model!!!
I used a piece of corrugated cardboard which I edged with Inka Gold - Old Gold around the edges. The rest I covered with clear gesso and misted with Luminarte Radiant Rain Shimmering mist "namorado" and "bashful blue" as well as Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist "latte", "cinder", and "dragonfly".
The gears are a Tim Holtz die cut, inked with Distress Inks, Vintage Photo, Black Soot and Rusty Hinge and covered with Dimensional Magic. Other chipboard is from my stash. The mesh under the photo is actually the bag that our furry babies tennis balls comes in! The centre of the gears are from Tim Holtz as well. The negative run is a Tim Holtz Die Cut.
The tap and lightbulb is from junkyard findings and the tape Tim Holtz Ruler Ribbon
The Chipboard is from Imaginarium and covered with Inka Gold - Old Gold. Black Dots are made with a Viva Pearl Pen
thanks for stopping by and dont forget to check out all the entrants - and have a go yourself at scrap the boys
