Double entry this month

This month I have completed a layout that I have entered into two challenges:

and
Purple Pumpkin - purple pumkin

I used the sketch from Purple Pumpkin and the colours from White With One:



turning the sketch upside down this is my take:

The colours for White with one is Watermelon and the photo does not do the colour justice as I had to take it at night.

Swirlydoo Butterly Challenge

I have finally finished my layout using the September Gilted Pleasure Kit and the butterfly Challenge:

The colouring is not so good, as I had to take the photo at night.  All items but the twine and clocks have come from the Swirlydoos September kit.

SWIRLYDOOS GILTED PLEASURE SKETCH CHALLENGE

This months sketch challenge at Swirlydoos is:

This is a photo of my grandma taken in 1939.  The majority of products used came in the September Kit, including the background stencil which I used with Ferro Modelling Creme, Pearl.  The tags have been painted with Acrylic Glaze silks which I watered down to give a softer effect.  The chipboard title and date were covered with Inka Gold - Old Gold as were the small emblishments made from Mod Podge Melts.

BOY MEETS GIRL OCTOBER 1 CHALLENGE

This is the first post for the new blog - http://boymeetsgirlchallenges.blogspot.com.au/

The Challenge was to create a layout "Grunge or Messy".  I chose to do a canvas which I had fun doing.  I find it a great time to use those embellishments that you ask yourself "what was i thinking buying that colour" or when you experiment with some chipboard and it all goes wrong.  Nothing like a "few" - sometimes "alot" of gesso and they are now embellishments that you love!

Swirlydoos Round Robin September Challenge

VICTORIAN MASTERS TOUR

The other weekend I was able to travel to Melbourne and meet three of the Australian Scrapbooking Masters - excited - yes definately was!, and they were welcoming and wonderful.  It was worth it just to see their winning masters entries in real life.  They look wonderful in the magazine but in real life they are awesome.

PURPLE PUMPKIN SKETCH CHALLENGE

Purple Pumpkin Sketch Challenge in September is great:




and here is my take on it:

Again I have not photographed this straight!!!  

The background is reverse chicken wire stencil and gesso.  I randomly used liquid pearls ivy green around the wire.  The tags are from Kaisercraft.  I stamped the paw prints and embossed them.  I then sprayed the tag with Dylusions Spray Cut Grass.  When wiped with a paper towel the paw prints are highlighted.  The pawprints punch is from ek success.  I used gelatos - white around the edge and then Perfect Pearls "Sour Apple".  The name "boof" was cut from Tim Holtz stencil and coloured with the same perfect pearls.  A few embellishments from my stash and the page was complete.
