Two projects for Scrap FX

Hi everyone, Lynn here today and I would like to share with you two projects that I have created.  The first is a cover for my Junk Journal.  I am loving these and this one will focus on family.  I will be having my boys visit me in a couple of weeks and will use the journal to record our time together.

I have painted the back and front of the journal randomly with Marabu Art Spray and added a little water to get them moving

Once the ink was dry I have used the heart insert from the Wild Heart Stencil and black gesso

From this point the fun begins :)   I play with my ink/paint pens - the issue is to know when to stop!

This is the back where you can see I have done from freehand shapes as well as using the paint pens to stamp with.  The pens that I have used were gifted to me by a special dear friend and they are fantastic - they are called a "uni chalk marker"  I was surprised at how well they stamped.  I have used the title "Family" and coloured it with Ranger Perfect Pearls.
I have also done the inside of the cover:

I began with the same technique on the background and used the Wild Heart Stencil, but this time I have used Tim Holtz Chipped Shapphire around the stencil to highlight the background colours.  I have used the paint pens to colour the centre and then add some doodling and stamping.

Here are some more close ups:

My second project for today is a tag that I have created using the Scribbly flower Stamp and Chipboard.
I have stamped onto some paper that I created with my geli plate and had done alot of doodle marks on.  I then photocopied this paper into small sizes and stamped onto it.  I have loved playing with bright colours today as in Tasmania it has been a gloomy winters day and the colours have brightened me up :)

Here are some close ups:

The saying I have used is from a transparency available in the Scrax FX store.

Art Journal page for Visible Image

Hi everyone, today I have an art journal page that I have created for Visible Image.
I have created the background using alcohol inks and Yupo paper so I have created this out of my mini journal and will insert it in with washi tape.

I have used Ranger Alcohol Inks, Blending Solution and the felt rounds to create the background.  Using Ranger Archival Inks I have stamped randomly on the background and then quickly rubbed the ink off with a soft cloth.  This lifts the alcohol ink off and leaves a ghost lock.

Using Brillance Black Ink I have stamped on the image and saying.

Layout for Scrap Matrix Design Team

Hi everyone, today I am here to share my second layout for the fantastic challenge we have this month at Scrap Matrix.  I am amazed at all the different projects the design team has come up with.

Here is mine:

and here is the moodboard - i have taken inspiration from the green and the dog picture - as well as the word sweet - which describes my furbaby  :)

Image may contain: 1 person, text

I have used the 7 Dots Garden Party Collection which I have found to be awesome.

I have trimmed the first layer and then punched around the edges - I love to use punches but so often forget about them!  I have then applied a layer of clear gesso to the paper.

I have then used a square stencil and crackle paste in random areas where my  photo will not be

I have then applied scribble sticks and water to the page - I forgot at this point to take photos but will explain.  One the scribble stick paint was dry I have randomly stamped using the AALL & Create #57 stamp.  This stamp is my new favourite!

I have created a photo mat using some tags from the Garden Party collection as well as making my own from the paper.

I coloured a few of the butterflies with the scribble sticks and used Dimensional Magic over the top.  Once dry I fussy cut them out

I have then put my layout together with flowers, metal flowers, lace, and buttons.  I have linked the products used to the Scrap Matrix shop at the bottom of the blog.

Here are some close ups:

Two cards and an art journal page for Visible Image Design Team

Hi everyone, today I have an art journal page and two cards to share with you that I have created for Visible Image stamps.

First the two cards:

I have created two simple but stylish cards using the Own Kind of Beautiful stamp set.

I started with plain water colour paper (hot press) and Intense Ink Blocks

I have done a couple of layers in the same colours but drying between.  With the blue I also used a patterned handy towel to create a different effect.

Once it was dry I stamped the butterfly and sentiment and then added some liquid pearls and stickles.  Here are some close ups:

For my next project I have kept with the butterfly stamp set and created an art journal page

For the background I have used Tim Holtx Oxide Inks in two colours - spiced marmalade and fossilized amber.

I put the lightest colour over the entire page and then using the collision stencil I went over it with the darker colour

I have then stamped the sentiment directly onto the page as well as the large heart in the Distress Oxide.  I have stamped the two butterflies onto a separate piece of water cardstock and coloured them in with Pitt Big Brush pens.  Fussy cut them out and stuck them over the solid butterfly images that I had stamped.

Here are some close ups:

The stamp set and stencil set that I have used can be found in the Visible Image store.  I have put the links below:
