an art journal page and two TN style pages for Scrap FX

Hi everyone,  today I would like to share with you an art journal page and two pages from my Travellers Notebook that I have created for Scrap FX.

First is my art journal page:

I have created this is my Dylusions Diary.

I began my painting the page with distress oxides and then using the Intersections Stencil and a darker distress oxide I created the patterns on the background.

I have painted the Steampunk Motorbike in copper/bronze paint and added some tranparancies.

Here are some close ups:

For my second project for this post I have made not one but two entries into my Travellers Notebook style journal - it is actually one of Dyan Revealeys Dyalog journals.

I have thoroughly enjoyed doing these - making pages from photos that are quirky moments or not quite focused or what I would use for a scrapbooking page.  I think it is a fantastic way to make memories what what I did - not on a daily basis but when we do something worthy of noting and that would be interesting to look back on!

I have used the Time Transparency as well as the numbers chipboard that I created into a stamping block - more information is on this blog post: Making Stamps

and for my second page (using the same background technique as the art journal page) :

Art Journal Page for Scrap Matrix DT

Hi there, I wanted to share my second creation for this months challenge over at Scrap Matrix - again I have done an art journal page that took on a like of its own!

I was given the following supplies to create with:

Dylusions Paint - Bubblegum Pink
Dylusions Spray - Crushed Grape
Dina Wakley Paint - Lemon
Aall & Create Stamp
13 Arts Stencil - Galaxy

I wanted to use the transfer image process so I stamped the image onto cardstock, scanned it into my computer, enlarged it and printed it out.   I the adhered it to my art journal pages using Finnabair Matte Medium and left it overnight to dry

Once dry I gave it a good wetting with water and began rubbing the paper away to reveal the images.

Now it was time to add to the colour.  Using both the paints and the sprays and water I went to town

When the paint was dry I used white gesso as a contrast.   I thought it needed some more contrast and decided to use black gesso and the 13 Arts stencil - OH BOY WHAT A MISTAKE

my beautiful page had disappeared - never fear I thought - add more white!

NOPE - I just wasnt liking this - so I had an idea - and I added more paint marks

and then ripped both the pages out of my journal - luckily there wasnt anything on either side of the page!   I used Paper Artsy stamps and created flowers from the torn out pages, which I was able to put around a new page that I coloured with the paints

Here are some close ups:

Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you are inspired to create a project and enter into this months Limited Supplies challenge.  It is easy to enter - just upload a picture into our Facebook Scrap Matrix Shares page and tell us what products you have used.

Art Journal Page for Scrap Matrix DT

Good Morning - today I would like to share my art journal page for this months challenge at Scrap Matrix  - Using Limited Supplies.

I was given the following supplies to create with:

For me this was a challenge as I have a huge craft supply and dont like limitations - but actually in the end found it very rewarding!!!!!

I tried to stick to the supplies given - adding black gesso and white paint pen.  I did also use a die cut for the frame.

I began by stamping the images from my Aall & Create stamp onto tissue paper and then using gel matte medium adding to the page of my Dylusions Art Journal

I have used tissue paper as some of my previous art journal pages are a bit bulky and this means I can not stamp a clear image directly onto the page,

Whilst waiting for the to dry I have stamped and coloured the image again onto card stock that I have coloured using the Dylusions Spray and spritzing with water before it was dry.  I also stamped out the three sayings to use on my page.

From here I took step by step photos but for some reason they have vanished to cyber space!!!  So I will have to talk you through the steps - which are super easy!

I used the stencil and some clear crackle paste around the layout and once dry have applied colour using all three types of paint given.   I then mounted my frame and focal point as well as the three sayings.

Final touches included drawing little triangles to match those in the stamp, white paint marks and edging with black gesso and marking with the yellow paint and white paint pen,

I would love to see what you can create with the following supplies:

Steampunk Canvas for Scrap FX DT

Today I would like to share with you a canvas that I have created for this months "Steampunk" theme with Scrap FX

Motorbike riding was a big part of my boys lives - the both competed here in Tasmania and many hours were spent preparing, practising and racing.

This canvas is in memory of that.

I began by setting out my composition

Once I was happy with the basic layout I took a photo of it to refer back to later as they never seem to go back the way we first plan!!

I have then painted the canvas and all the chipboard pieces with black gesso.
Once dry I have used gloss medium and a stencil to create some background effects.

You can heat dry this or wait patiently! (it is all clear when dry)

I have used Finnabair matte medium to adhere all the chipboard pieces to the canvas.  I have added some fillers - beads, buttons, bits of metal etc.

Once all dry the fun begins with the colours - just keep adding til you are happy!
